Application Deadline for Overseas International Applicants
If you're an international student looking for Canadian scholarships or international scholarships to study in Canada, don't miss the May 2025 intake at Algoma University. The application deadline for overseas international applicants without an approved study permit is February 21st, 2025. Any application submitted after this date will be automatically deferred to the next available intake.
Application Deadline for "Onshore" Students
If you're currently living inside Canada with an approved Canadian study permit or living overseas with a valid Canadian study visa or Canadian study permit, you're considered an "onshore" student. The last day to apply for admission is April 17th, 2025.
Tuition Deposit Deadlines
- Overseas International Applicants (without a study visa): March 7th, 2025
- Onshore Applicants: April 18th, 2025
September 2025 Intake
Application Deadline for Overseas International Applicants
The application deadline for overseas international applicants without an approved study permit is June 20th, 2025. Any application submitted after this date will be automatically deferred to the next available intake.
Application Deadline for "Onshore" Students
The last day to apply for admission is August 14th, 2025.
Tuition Deposit Deadlines
- Overseas International Applicants (without a study visa): July 4th, 2025
- Onshore Applicants: August 15th, 2025
How to Apply
- Complete the Algoma U application
- Pay your non-refundable $125.00 CDN application fee on the application portal
- Submit copies of all transcripts, including secondary school transcripts, secondary school diplomas, post-secondary school transcripts, and diplomas/degrees, if applicable
- Send proof of English Language Proficiency (if applicable)
- Provide a Gap Letter/Gap Explanation (if applicable)
- Submit a copy of your Study Permit/Visa (if applicable)
ApplyProof Platform
Algoma University uses the ApplyProof platform to verify documents. Here's how it works:
- Once you've been accepted, you'll receive a congratulatory email with instructions on accessing your Offer Package
- Click on the ApplyProof link and insert your passcode to retrieve your document
- Make sure the ApplyProof page is attached when applying for a study permit
Deferral Policy
- Students can defer their offer of admission once to the next available intake with no formal reason required
- Deferrals are conditional upon program availability, campus availability, and seat availability
- After the first deferral, all future deferrals require a tuition deposit
Documents & Academic History
- All documents must come with an Official English Language translation if the original documents are not in English
- Rename all files to accurately describe their content
- Documents must be submitted in PDF format
- Condense all related documents into one PDF document
Official Transcripts
An official transcript is defined as a transcript sent directly by the issuing institution or education authority using security features. Official transcripts may be requested for various reasons, including:
- Confirmation of admission
- Transfer credit evaluations
- Scholarship assessment
- Cases of suspected fraudulent documents
