This type of scholarship was founded in 1955 by Charles Glass a Montreal lawyer and amature artist in sweet memory of his mother Elizabeth Greenshields for undergraduates that are art inclined. The Elizabeth Greenshields scholarship can be won under the Universite Laval.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for this scholarship applicants:
- Must be at the beginning or in career development, pursue or pursue studies in the fields of painting, drawing, sculpture or the printing arts (printmaking, engraving, silkscreen and lithography) of figurative style and demonstrate The will to make a career in this field (s).
- Must have reached the age of 18 at the time of application.
Note:The scholarship would not accept applications from applicants that are already commercial artists, graphic artists or illustrators; Photographers; Cartoonists; Videographers, filmmakers or computer graphics artists; Craftsmen; Or of any artist whose work primarily relates to these categories.
Value of scholarship:
The scholarship is worth $15,000 - $18,000.
Deadline:
At the point of articling this post, there are no applications deadline, apparently applications are sent all round the clock.
Objectives:
The objectives of this scholarship is to support students and early age artist who wish to develop the skills and abilities required to master traditional ways of artistic expression in the fields of:
- Painting,
- Sculptor,
- Engraving,
- Serigraphy
